Crime is increasing these days, and a burglary can be devastating to anyone. If you want to protect some of your valuable belongings and important legal papers, consider installing a wall safe in your home or office. A wall safe will keep these items safe and secure, give you piece of mind, and allow you access to them 24 hours a day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Look around your house to find where you want to install your wall safe. A good few places might be inside a closet, under a shelf in the pantry, or in a kitchen base cabinet.

  2. Step 2

Move furniture in the room and pictures on the wall away from the area where you are going to put your safe.

  3. Step 3

Build your wall safe into the walls between studs. Use your stud finder to locate two parallel wall studs across from each other. Mark the studs with a pencil to show where the safe will be installed. Measure the length, then draw lines to mark the top, bottom and sides of the safe.

  4. Step 4

    Drill into the studs.

  5. Step 5

Install support blocks behind the wall board. Insert one just below and one just above where the safe will rest.

  6. Step 6

Place the safe into the opening, pre-drill screw holes into the studs, and secure the safe using 2-inch screws.

  7. Step 7

Hang the picture back up on the wall and replace the furniture. Your valuables will now be safe and secure.
