How to Make a Paintball Grenade

A paintball grenade is simple to make and very effective. It needs to be thrown overhand at something firm in order to have a massive explosion with a spray radius of 5 to 6 feet. Follow these steps to learn how to make a paintball grenade.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 foot of 1/8-inch rubber tubing
  • Plastic clip tie
  • Large syringe
  • Children's paint (non-toxic)
  • Hemostats
  • Ball bearings
  • Cotter pins
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Rubber bands
  1. Step 1

Pour the paint in a syringe. You can use children's paint such as poster or finger-paint. If you don't have any available you can melt some paintballs.

  2. Step 2

Cinch the tubing in the center tightly and seal with the clip tie. Inject the paint mixture into one side of the tubing. Fill it until it is 2 inches from the top.

  3. Step 3

Use the hemostats to crimp off the tubing. It should now resemble a sausage. Remove the syringe.

  4. Step 4

Moisten the ball bearings with the rubbing alcohol and put it into the tube just above the hemostats. Stick a cotter pin above the ball bearing into the tubing. Let the alcohol dry before removing the hemostats.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the process with the other side. Place a thin rubber band around the paintball grenade to maximize the spray coverage when it is thrown.

  6. Step 6

Pull the cotter pin and throw the paintball grenade overhand at a firm object.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure not to squeeze the paintball grenade before you throw it or you are in for a big mess.
  • Never throw a paintball grenade at a person or animal. It can be very painful and cause harm to living beings.
