Step 1
Figure out your options. There are a variety of ways to organize your fantasy golf league. Research what setup options are available to you. If you do not find a system that interests you, make up your own.
-
Step 2
Find some participants. You need to round up some friends to play in your fantasy golf league. If it is just you, you are going to win, but it is not going to fill you with a sense of accomplishment.
-
Step 3
Determine your scoring system. Golf may seem like a bland statistical sport, but there are many options available to you. A rotisserie system may work for you combining statistics such as fairways hit, greens in regulation, putting, sand saves and driving distance. You can also utilize a scoring average system where you average the scores for the golfers on each team. In order to run a fun fantasy golf league, it is crucial that everyone enjoys the scoring system.
-
Step 4
Have a system for arbitrating disagreements in place before a disagreement occurs. Should a dispute between two or more participants arise, make sure everyone understands what the process is for filing a protest and how that protest is going to be decided. Nothing will destroy a fantasy golf league quicker than the appearance of an unfair playing environment.
-
Step 5
Keep the participants active. If you find someone who is not keeping up with his squad, contact them and encourage them to continue to manage their team. If only one participant stops managing it can ruin the enjoyment of the fantasy golf league for the others.
-
Step 6
Have fun! If you do not enjoy yourself, you are doing something wrong.
