There are many ways to relive the dawn of the video game age. You can get Atari games in many forms including new video game units, computer games and you can even play Atari games on the Internet. However, to truly relive the Atari Age, you will need an Atari system. An Atari 7800 ProSystem might be a good choice because it was the most advanced Atari system produced.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide if an Atari 7800 ProSystem is the system you want. The ProSystem was the final version of Atari released and offers more powerful components and better, digital joysticks. While most Atari 2600 games are compatible with the Atari 7800, there are some which may not work.

  2. Step 2

Check out the prices for Atari 7800 at Internet retailers. The Atari 7800 systems are used, but many are offered in good condition. They often come complete with a set of two controllers, a power supply and connector cables.

  3. Step 3

Take a look at online auction sites to see if you can find a better deal. Search for Atari 7800 and compare the prices to online retailers. You can also check local flea markets, thrift stores and garage sales, but Atari 7800s are rare at these places.

  4. Step 4

Get an adapter to hook your Atari 7800 up to your television. To hook an Atari 7800 ProSystem to a modern television you must have either an RF modulator or a RCA to coax converter. Both can be purchased at electronic hobby retailers. The RCA to coax converter will give you the best picture.

  5. Step 5

Purchase some games for your Atari 7800 ProSystem. Once you have the console, you will need to get some games to use it. Find Atari games at online auction sites or at the Atari Guide website.
