Soma cubes are brainteasing puzzles that people try to put together, but often end up frustrated. They are usually wooden and must be put together step by step. Parker Brothers started selling the Soma cube in 1969 and the cubes have fascinated people ever since.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what type of Soma cube you would like to buy. There are 3 different types, with some more popular than others. The Soma Schrag is the cube with a tilt. All pieces have a 50 degree angle to them. The next variant is the Checkered Soma Cube. It is what its name says; its checkered pieces fit to make all sides of the cube a checked pattern. Last and not least the most popular and the easiest to find, is the colored Soma Cube. Each of these pieces is a different color.

  2. Step 2

Visit toy stores and large discount stores for the colored Soma Cube. As it is the most popular of the cubes is will be the easiest to find.

  3. Step 3

Call or shop the specialty game stores for the Soma Schrag and the checkered cube. If calling describe what you are looking for and not just the name. There are other manufactures that make them, but if Parker Brothers still owns the copyrights to the Soma name, the puzzles will be named differently.

  4. Step 4

Browse hobby stores and craft fairs. People with the ability to make these puzzles and other crafts will have booths set up at Christmas fairs, as they make great gifts.

  5. Step 5

Compare prices on the internet, eBay, and local shops. Don't forget to add shipping and tax to get the best deal. Sometimes to get that special Soma Cube, or puzzles like them, you may have to pay a little more.
