Step 1
Write down what kind of marketing you need, for how long you need it and what you are willing to spend to obtain your goal.
-
Step 2
Begin your search on the Internet for a marketing firm. Have pen and paper readily available so you can record your findings on each firm you locate. Read the facts of each firm you find. Determine if they offer the services you need and how often they will advertise your business.
-
Step 3
Narrow down your search to two or three firms. Ask whether they offer keyword optimization. Ask which search engines they will use and how often they will update their approach if need be.
-
Step 4
Ask firms for their statistics: how often their site is viewed and how highly it is rated. Ask for client contact to obtain feedback on the quality of the firm's business strategies.
-
Step 5
Request information on the firm's idea of a successful website, and what they will do if changes need to be made in yours. Ask what the costs are if the marketing firm needs to revise the site and how you will be billed accordingly.
-
Step 6
Discuss with the Internet marketing firm their contract terms. You do not want to be locked into a contract as the industry changes from day to day.
