Step 1
Compare your computer system information against the system requirements of Corel WordPerfect Office X3. Office X3 is compatible with operating systems Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. You need 575 MB hard disk space for a full install plus the following:
128 MB RAM, although 256 MB is recommended
466 MHZ processor
CD-ROM drive
Super VGA, 16-bit color monitor with 800 x 600 or greater resolution
Internet Explorer 5.5

Step 2
Upgrade to Office X3 if you're a licensed owner of any compatible products: WordPerfect Office 8 or higher, X3 versions of CorelDRAW or Paint Shop Pro, Painter IX, Corel® DESIGNER™ 12, Microsoft Office 97 or Microsoft Works Suite 2000. Upgrades can cost up to 50 percent less than the original price.

Look at the Corel website (see Resources below) for a free trial version to download. You can try out WordPerfect Office X3 for 30 days and audition the word processing, spreadsheets, multimedia slide shows and even email.

Step 4
Buy software from an electronics store or anywhere software is sold if you prefer to own a disk to install your program. Packaged software also comes with a hard copy of a manual.

Download the full version of WordPerfect Office X3 from the Corel website.

Step 6
Install the individual programs that you want from Office X3. Installing WordPerfect, Quattro Pro and Presentations takes about 30 minutes.

Remember to register your copy of Corel's office program so that you will be eligible for tech support and updates when needed.
