Step 1
Respect peoples' privacy and don't assume that just because they are single and at church, that they want to meet somebody.
-
Step 2
Approach one of the matches with some questions about what they are looking for in a mate and tell him or her that you believe you know someone that would be a very good match.
-
Step 3
Arrange a group activity that will include your two friends. If you invite other couples, the two singles will naturally gravitate toward each other and feel free to socialize without the pressure of a blind date. They can get to know each other in the safety of the group and take it from there themselves if they so choose.
-
Step 4
As a self-professed matchmaker, you can always enjoin others in your projects. Ask a leader in the church to appoint the two people to a committee. Working together for a common cause is a wonderful way to bring people together, or conversely, get them to see that they could never get along.

Step 5
Act like a teenager and tell one party that the other party likes him or her and would be open to a date. This kind of free advice may be rejected, but with you as mediary, no one has to get hurt.
