If you aren't a veteran hunter, you may not know that different kinds of hunting requires different styles of hunting clothes. There are as many different hunting clothes as there are hunting genres. Use these steps to learn more about the different types of hunting clothes available, so you can choose the best hunting clothes for your next hunting trip.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Decide which area of hunting you are shopping for hunting clothes in, if you are only hunting one type of animal or in one location this will be easier for you. Other important factors are time of the year, time of the day/night, location and sizes you will need.
Step2
Research hunting clothes companies to see how they list or market their clothing. Cabela's separates theirs by men, women and children. This will take care of the size issues, then you just need to see what each manufacturer has to offer.
Step3
Consider the purpose of the clothing. Are you trying to block scent? Stay warm and dry? Blend in with the scenery? Hunting clothes manufacturers also divide their categories by function. Make a list of the items you are looking for, for quick and easy comparisons.
Step4
Shop online or in stores. Many of the same items are offered in sporting goods or hunting stores as they are online. If there is an item you want and the store doesn't carry it in stock, ask if they can special order it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember to include shipping costs when comparing online and retail products.
  • Find out about warranties offered. Many of the higher prices, purpose-oriented hunting clothes offer warranties.
