How to Choose Karaoke Music for a Bachelorette Party

Does the bride to be feel like celebrating in song about avoiding the old maid? You might get away with karaoke at the bachelorette party than the groom's friends would at his party. Just find the right tunes and you could get her and the bridesmaids crooning.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on the setting. If you choose to go to a bar or club that has karaoke night, they'll have all the music for you. Otherwise, you'll need to get the music and equipment yourself.

  2. Step 2

Get the equipment if you're hosting the party yourself. You might get away with just the stereo at high volume, but an actual karaoke machine will work better if you can get one.

  3. Step 3

Decide on the versions of music. Do you want the karaoke style or one with the original artist singing along? The full version might work better if you don't have the full karaoke equipment (like the monitor that shows the lyrics).

  4. Step 4

Take the bride and guests favorite music into account. If they know the songs, there's a greater chance they'll be willing to sing.

  5. Step 5

Throw in as many songs about love, marriage and happiness as you can. "Chapel of Love" and "Wouldn't It Be Nice" would be good selections. "You Oughta Know" and "Before He Cheats"--not so good.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consult with the bachelorette first. Remember that karaoke isn't for everyone. You might want to make sure her and the guests will like this so the party doesn't turn out a flop.
  • Make sure there are plenty of drinks--like there wouldn't have been anyway. The more you can get the bachelorette and guests liquored up, the more likely they'll be willing to get to the mike.
