If you're a big fan of a TV show, movie, or book, reading fan fiction can be a great way to get your fix of more of your favorites. Fan fiction is fiction written by fans, usually based on the same characters and even story lines of the original. FanFiction.net is full of thousands of stories written by fans of various TV shows, movies, books and other mediums.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Create an account on FanFiction.net. You don't have to have an account to read stories, but if you want to manage lists of favorites or write a review on a story, you will need an account.
Step2
Choose a category from the homepage or use the drop-down menu labeled "Home" at the top of the page. Find your TV show, book, movie, or other medium and click on it. The number next to the topic is the number of stories that have been uploaded on that topic.
Step3
Scan over the story titles. Read the descriptions and look at the info in gray underneath the description. Here you can find out if a story is complete, how many words it is, what genre of story it is and when it was updated and published. Stories are also given a rating based on content, where K is appropriate for all ages, T is for teens and M is for mature readers.
Step4
Sort your list by using the drop-down menus at the upper right of the screen. You can filter out stories you aren't interested in reading, whether it be by word length, genre, rating, or status.
Step5
Click on the story you want to read. If the story is divided into chapters, you can advance to the next chapter by clicking on the arrow button at the bottom right of the page, or use the drop-down menu to select a chapter.
Step6
Use the drop-down menu on the bottom left of the screen to submit a review on a story or add the story or author to your favorites. You can also use this pull-down menu to report abuse if the story you just read contains objectionable content.
