Self-help books have been all the rage for the past 2 decades and continue to feed our need to improve ourselves without the stigma and cost of therapy. But, with all the choices of self-help books out there, how do you know which ones are worth the time and money? Use these steps to learn more about self-help books and how to find the right ones for you.

  1. Step 1

    Decide what are you are looking to improve in your life. This could be spiritual, financial, health, medical or mental.

  2. Step 2

    Research the books in the area you are looking for expertise in. Use Amazon or other online book markets to find their top picks in self-help books. You can also read reviews of the books submitted by readers which can help you to make decisions on which books are worth spending your money on.

  3. Step 3

    Consider the experts in the field. After you have found a list of book titles you are interested in, then it is time to research the authors to find out how credible they are.

  4. Step 4

    Ask your friends and some of the other people in your life if they have any recommendations. Sometimes, you will find that authors have become popular because their books are helping people.

  5. Step 5

    Think about ebooks. Ebooks are as popular now as the physical versions and can be downloaded instantly and often include worksheets to help you apply the self-help aspect of the book. A great site to check out for ebooks is Higher Awareness.
