Step 1
Use a knife. If you are skilled with a paring knife, you can peel a Chirimoya like you would other fruit. You could also peel it as you would a hard-skinned fruit, by using a knife to cut down the side.
-
Step 2
Try a hand peeler. A good, sharp, sturdy fruit or vegetable peeler will do the trick nicely. Make sure you have a good grip on the Chirimoya so it doesn't slip and cause you to cut yourself. A great peeler to use is the Leifheit Feel-It Peeler for about $15 which is safer and easy to use for round fruits.

Step 3
Utilize a manual peeling machine. There are many of these great countertop machines available that take care of the peeling for you. One great peeler is the Lurch Kitchen Gadget Peeler. It has a great retro design, is small and easy to store and at only about $25 is a steal.

Step 4
Check out an electric peeler. Presto makes an electric peeler that can peel up to 2 pounds of potatoes in 1 to 4 minutes and is equally efficient on fruits. At about $60 on Cookware.com, it is a great deal for all the labor you will save.
