Call your travel agent. If you have other travel accommodations to include with your tickets, this method can save you money and time. A travel agent may also have access to ticket packages and discounts that are not available to the consumer.

Work for the Austin Film Festival. If you are interested in filmmaking or producing of any kind, working in the film festival environment will provide ample amounts of knowledge and the opportunity to mingle with film festival great. The festival website offers information on employment with the festival, including an online application, or you can call the festival's toll free number, (800) 310-FEST.

Step 4
Volunteer at the festival or a number of other events surrounding the festival. Not only will you get in free and have the chance to rub elbows with film greats, but you will be a key part in making the festival run smoothly for everyone involved.

Enter a film or piece. If your artistic expression is chosen to be featured at the festival, you will be invited not only to the festival, but also to a number of festival parties, conferences and other events. Entry information is available on the website; be prepared to pay entry fees for any submission, starting at about $30 for early submissions to slightly higher for later submissions.
