Learn about the job as a typist and the skills that are required. You need to be accurate and efficient at typing. You will need knowledge of all the basic computer programs currently being used, such as Word, Excel and Power Point.

4
Create a great resume highlighting your typing and office experience. Be clear about the programs you are familiar with, but be careful not to use programs that everyone is familiar with, as this will commercialize you.

5
Apply for typist jobs and showcase yourself professionally in the interview. Some companies may ask you for a sample of past work or may have you complete an on-site skills test to check firsthand your speed and accuracy.
