In an age when there are so many educational courses available to take online, students have the option to study from the comfort of home. But for some, this can pose a problem. You can learn to be a self-learner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Practice self-learning techniques by recognizing the benefits. You'll be in control of your education. You can set your own pace and use the learning methods that work best for you as an individual. Materials such as study guides, videos and CDs, books and other resources are easily available concerning any subject you want to study.
Step2
Be goal-oriented and set firm objectives. Write down a checklist for yourself as you practice self-learning techniques. Set a date for finishing your study project. If you'll need to pass exams for certification, plan your time-frame for study and set a date for taking the exam. If you have clear steps in place for finishing, you are practicing good self-learning techniques.
Step3
Motivate yourself by thinking of the benefits that learning produces. Whether you are taking an online degree course or just studying new things to improve your life, define the benefits. More income, increased self-esteem, better communication skills and more flexibility in your career are all great motivators. Motivation is a great technique for self learning.
Step4
Work at a steady pace. There is freedom in self-learning, but with freedom comes responsibility. Be disciplined in getting your study and work accomplished. Do good research as you study, memorize key points and find help when you need it.
