The AAA TripTik is a great travel tool. It is a map book that is tailored specifically to your trip. Getting a TripTik is easy and you'll be glad you have it when you set out on your road trip.

From Quick Guide: AAA Auto Club 101
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a AAA membership. The basic membership offers the travel services and the TripTik is part of those services.

  2. Step 2

Plan your trip, including the route you would like to drive and the places you would like to stop. Make a list of these locations and include addresses for hotels and lodging locations.

  3. Step 3

Place an order for a AAA TripTik by calling your AAA representative, placing an order online, or going to your AAA office in person. Give the representative all the information you compiled in Step 2.

  4. Step 4

Wait for your TripTik to be ready for pickup at your nearest AAA office. Most TripTiks can be completed in 5 days or fewer.

  5. Step 5

Prepare an online TripTik if you feel you don't need to have a separate book in the car with you. You can set up a personalized TripTik that you can view by logging in to AAA's website.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be as detailed as possible when providing info about your stopping locations. If you provide addresses for each location, your TripTik can be customized to drive you directly to that exact location and not just the general area.
  • Even though a TripTik provides road information, always check ahead to verify that the information is current.
