2
Consider the floor of your minivan when you begin to customize. Add ½-inch plywood to your floor and screw it down to the ribs. This will give you a smooth surface to apply carpet or hardwood, whichever you prefer.

3
Run wiring for any desired lights or switches to customize your minivan before doing any other alterations to the walls or ceiling.

4
Prepare the walls of your minivan. Use insulation and ¼-inch plywood. Cut your plywood to fit your walls and screw the plywood to the side ribs of the vehicle. This allows your ¼-inch plywood to conform to the contour of your minivan walls. Repeat this process for the ceiling.

5
Attach carpet on your walls and ceiling. Apply adhesive glue to the back of your carpet and also to the plywood. Allow the glue to dry. The glue must be dry before you put your carpet on the plywood in order for it to bond.
