Step 1
Make a list of the RC accessories you want before purchasing any items so you can evaluate how much you need to spend. Some accessories a RC hobbyist should have include a starter box, magnetic balancer, gear puller, temperature gauge, tool pouch, glow plug wrench, glow plugs, fuel and air filter oil.
-
Step 2
Search for accessories at a local hobby shop. Look for hobby shops that primarily focus on radio control vehicles and accessories instead of a shop that sells a variety of hobby items in addition to the RC parts. A store that focuses on RC accessories has a greater inventory and more expertise.
-
Step 3
Shop for RC car accessories or kits directly from an online hobby shop such as Hobbytron because these shops often offer a wider selection than a physical store and have better prices. Also try online stores such as Amazon that sell a variety of items including hobby necessities.
-
Step 4
Buy car accessories from individuals through online auction sites such as eBay or garage sales. Items such as tires, for instance, can be purchased in lots with other accessories through auctions. Other RC hobbyists sometimes have accessories that they no longer use and sell at discounted prices.
