If you've ever wanted to be the star of your own video game, the Eye Toy may be what you're looking for. This accessory for the PlayStation 2 is easy to set up and use, and there are many games to choose from. Here's how.

From Quick Guide: Video Game Consoles
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plug the Eye Toy camera into the USB port on your PlayStation 2. This is located in the blue area on the front of the device. Place the camera on top of your television or entertainment center.

  2. Step 2

Watch yourself on the television screen and adjust the Eye Toy camera so that you can see yourself from at least the thighs up when you are standing about six to eight feet back from the television.

  3. Step 3

Adjust the focus of the Eye Toy by turning the circular outer part of the lens until you are in focus.

  4. Step 4

Make any necessary adjustments to the lighting in the room where you are going to be using the Eye Toy. The room needs to be bright enough so that the camera can pick up your movements, but with no light reflecting into the lens as it will cause a glare.

  5. Step 5

Play your Eye Toy game. Most Eye Toy games involve touching various floating objects or dodging out of the way of things.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since Eye Toy games require you to move around a lot, allow plenty of open space around your game playing area.
  • Set up your Eye Toy so that as few objects as possible are in its view. If there are pictures on the wall or other items in view, it can affect the game play.
