How to Use the Earthlink Toolbar

The Earthlink toolbar lets you surf the Web with virtually any software program. You can find what you need with the toolbar once you learn the basic features.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Download the Earthlink Toolbar program on to your computer, so you can access the program and work with it.

  2. Step 2

    Add a button to your toolbar by clicking on the Earthlink logo and choosing "Toolbar Options." Wait for the window to appear and select "Create a Custom Button."

  3. Step 3

    Decide between a button that starts a website with a single click, known as "Basic," or use "Menu" to add several items. If you pick "Basic," you simply click "Finish," and the task is completed. "Menu" is the button that starts a site.

  4. Step 4

    Hit the "Next" button, and then enter a custom name for the button.

  5. Step 5

    Enter a Web address to open the site when you click on it. You also have the option to pick a custom icon that appears next to the name on the toolbar.

  6. Step 6

    Select "Finish" and the new button appears on the toolbar.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once you master adding a toolbar button to your Earthlink Toolbar you can add news sites, online banking, the sites you visit the most, entertainment and other features.
  • Add a separator, such as a horizontal line, to group the sites by categories.
