Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Seek therapy. Most survivors of ritual abuse will need professional therapy for help to deal with the trauma. Interview several therapists and ask them all the same list of prepared questions. Ask about their experience working with ritual abuse. Choose a therapist that you feel safe and comfortable with.
Step2
Forgive yourself for survivor's guilt. You are a good person who was used for bad things.
Step3
Get in touch with your inner child. Ritual abuse survivors were not allowed to have a childhood. Learn to play and laugh and show your inner child she is cared for and loved.
Step4
Identify your ritual abuse triggers. These might be your birthday and satanic holidays. Anticipate a trigger coming and plan in advance an alternate action for when it occurs.
Step5
Take care of yourself. Eat healthy meals, get good night sleeps and eliminate any addictions you have. Replace the learned behavior of self harm with a new found behavior of self care.
Step6
Learn to trust yourself. In time this trust in yourself will help you learn to trust others.
Step7
Spend time with friends and get involved with hobbies. Art and music can be wonderful means of moving through feelings and emotions and healing old wounds.
