Gamers are divided on whether game walkthroughs hurt or help the games they love. Some feel the walkthroughs are beneficial, helping casual gamers avoid frustration; while others think it spoils the game's challenge. No matter what camp you find yourself in, there are certain ways of going about using walkthroughs that will help you a lot--especially with playing the newer, more complex games such as Resident Evil 4.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a good walkthrough by going to any of the common FAQ sites, such as GameFAQs. Most cheat and walkthrough sites are organized in the same manner. Use the search bar at the top by typing in Resident Evil 4, or browse to it by selecting GameCube, Playstation 2, Wii or PC then "R" then "Resident Evil 4" from the list.

  2. Step 2

Scan the walkthrough ro get a basic idea of its contents. Resident Evil 4 has a lot of information in it, and many walkthroughs will replicate this with lists of in-game documents and character dialogue.

  3. Step 3

Look over any sections on the games controls to find out if there are any special moves or techniques you'll need to be aware of to increase your enjoyment of the game. Pay special attention to the Wii instructions as that console often has particularly unique controls due to its motion-sensitive controller.

  4. Step 4

Examine the lists of special locations or hidden items to find out if there are any in the section that you plan on trying. Resident Evil 4 has as much hidden stuff, and there are hidden items, unlockables and minigames throughout the entire game.

  5. Step 5

Read the section for the part of the game you're attempting. Once again, note any special information that you have to be looking for as you play. By looking over the section in detail you can play through the area quickly, and be prepared for whatever the area has to throw at you.
