How to Make a Boo Boo Bunny

When a "boo boo" happens--a cute name for a slight cut, bump or abrasion--a sweet little bunny can offer comfort. A boo boo bunny is designed with a hole in its center to hold a piece of ice. Boo boo bunnies can be used as baby shower favors, or as decorations on gifts for babies or children. Older children will have fun making their own boo boo bunnies.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Washcloth
    • Rubber band
    • Googly eyes
    • Two pompoms
    • Ribbon
    • Needle
    • Thread
      • 1

Purchase a washcloth or use one you have already. Baby washcloths are the easiest to work with to make a boo boo bunny. Use a white, pastel or brightly colored washcloth.

      • 2

Place the washcloth flat. Roll one corner of the wash cloth toward the center. When you reach the center, roll the opposite corner of the washcloth toward the center.

      • 3

Fold the washcloth in half with the two rolls on the outside. Fold the washcloth in half again. Place a rubber band around the second fold to form the bunny's face.

      • 4

Pull apart the rolled ends apart and fluff them up so that they look like bunny ears.

      • 5

Glue googly eyes onto the face and a pom-pom for the nose of the boo boo bunny. Glue a large pompom to the back of the bunny for a tail.

      • 6

Reinforce the nose and tail with a few stitches. Use thread to match the bunny color, or invisible thread. This is optional but will help to keep the pompoms attached to the bunny. Tie ribbon over the rubber band. Now your boo boo bunny is complete.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Boo boo bunnies should not be used by young children without supervision as pompoms and eyes can detach and pose a choking or swallowing hazard.
