Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Understand that you do not have to sit in front of the piano straight for a half hour to an hour to consider that you have actually practiced. Face it, you may not have a whole hour to sit there and practice.
Step2
Change your expectations of yourself. You can find time throughout the day here and there and these short periods can add up to at least half an hour of practice. That's better than not practicing at all.
Step3
Plan out your day each day and look for a time period where you don't have a place to rush to or something that you are occupied with. Once you find that time, commit yourself to practice at that time, even if it's only for 10 minutes. You can practice playing one song at least 5 times in that time.
Step4
Learn to use your time more wisely. Instead of having long conversations on the phone with your friends, you can practice the piano for an additional 10 to 20 minutes.
Step5
Wake up early to practice if your piano is in an enclosed room. Go to be a half hour later so you can get in the practice.
Step6
Reward yourself to a special treat each time you get to practice playing the piano.
