Cell phone technology has advanced to the point where users can do almost anything with the cell phones. However, you might not know that you can cook a meal with two phones and a radio.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 cell phones
  • Egg cup made from wood, glass or porcelain
  • Radio
Step1
Place an egg in the egg cup on a flat surface to cook it. Put the radio relatively close to the egg, turn it to an AM or FM station and keep the music at a comfortable volume.
Step2
Set the cell phones about a 1/2 inch from the egg, making sure the phone's antennas are at the same level as the exposed egg. Use books or other stable material to lift the phones if needed.
Step3
Call one cell phone with the other and answer the first, so that the two cell phones are on a connecting call.
Step4
Allow the phone call to continue for several minutes to cook the egg depending on the power output of each cell phone. This can take anywhere from approximately 3 minutes for phones that are 2 watts, and up to 65 minutes for lower wattage cell phones.
Step5
Feel the egg temperature with your hand. As the phone call goes on, the shell should become hot and feel hard and bristled. This may require more than one try because you may find that the egg white has cooked but the yolk may remain runny.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plastic eggcups cannot be used to cook the eggs as they don't conduct heat.
