Glide across the white snow and enjoy one of the pleasures of winter. Sleigh riding can be great fun as long as you're dressed properly. Use these tips to dress for a sleigh ride. You'll feel like part of a Christmas carol. Dress appropriately for a sleigh ride so that you forget about the cold and enjoy the ride.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Warm shirts, pants and undergarments
  • Coat or snow suit
  • Boots
  • Mittens, hat and scarf
  • Blanket

Step1
Monitor the weather before you get ready. You don't want to overdress but you have to be warm. Make sure you check the wind chill because the weather can feel much colder than it is. Dress slightly warmer than you think you need.
Step2
Dress in layers. When you wear layers, you can take off outer clothing if you feel too warm.
Step3
Wear warm undergarments. Put on long underwear and an undershirt. Wear a turtleneck over the undershirt followed by a sweater and warm pants.
Step4
Protect your extremities. Make sure you wear warm mittens and thick socks. Wear a hat and scarf that cover your head, neck and nose.
Step5
Put on a warm winter coat, snow pants and thick winter boots. You want to make sure your whole body is covered especially if it's windy.
Step6
Keep your feet warm. Wear woolly socks or two layers of socks. Get boots that can protect you from snow, wetness and cold temperatures.
Step7
Take a blanket for extra warmth and protection. You can use a blanket to wrap yourself up or use it to sit on and keep your bottom warm in the sleigh. Blankets are great for keeping more than one person warm. So whether you want to snuggle with a child or your honey, a blanket is a great way to keep warm.

Tips & Warnings

  • Go to the bathroom before you get dressed in all those layers.
  • It's always better to overdress than under-dress.
