Step 1
Skip the oil. One of the major benefits to using silicone bakeware has to do with oil and fats. Traditional pans need to be greased before use, while a silicone piece needs no additional oils or fats to bake. This makes for a healthier end product.
-
Step 2
Use it anywhere. Because silicone bakeware is so durable, you can use it in the freezer, oven and microwave, and it's dishwasher safe. You can create a dish, heat it, freeze it and then reheat it all in the same silicone pan.
-
Step 3
Give it a little support. One of the drawbacks with silicone bakeware is its flexibility. When you bake with it, place a cookie sheet underneath the pan for added support. This also makes it easier to remove the pan from the oven once your dish is done.
-
Step 4
Check the time. When you begin to use silicone bakeware, it's important to watch your baked goods carefully to get a feel for how your oven and bakeware will react. Some cakes may cook quicker in silicone, while others make take a bit longer to brown.

Step 5
Take your cake out easier. Once your cake is done, you'll be amazed at how easy it is to remove from the pan. Simply give the pan a shake and the cake will slide right out.
