Step 1
Slide the foreskin back and wash with warm water, at least once a day. If the skin is not inflamed, use a mild soap and be sure to rinse away all soap residue. The foreskin should retract easily. If retracting causes discomfort, see a doctor.
-
Step 2
Dry the entire genital area thoroughly after each washing. Air dry for 10 minutes, or use a blow dryer three times a day, especially during the hot months. Pull the foreskin back while drying. Replace the foreskin when done. Apply an over the counter anti-fungal ointment once the area is dry.
-
Step 3
Slide the foreskin back every time you urinate so the foreskin doesn't get wet. Dry the penis completely and slide the foreskin into place. Reapply the anti-fungal ointment as needed throughout the day.
-
Step 4
Avoid sex while treating Balanitis, or you can pass the infection to your partner, generally in the form of a yeast infection. Once the Balanitis is gone you can resume sexual activity, but be sure to wash and dry the penis thoroughly after sex.

on 7/25/2008 For almost two years I tried the ssteps that are listed above and it didn't clear up my balanitis. It would kind of go away for a bit but would return with a vengance.
I want to tell you that I have found away to heal myself and my balanitis was GONE in less then 90 days. Check out this website: balanitisgone.com and read my story of how I did it.
My wife has added a page of how she handled this dis-ease along side me.
