Step 1
Entertain the kids. With either a bubble solution bought at a store or one that's homemade from dish detergent and water, you can reshape wire hangers into any form you desire and use them as bubble wands. Dip the wands into a large plate of bubble mix and make strange looking bubbles.
-
Step 2
Fashion a fish net or strainer. By shaping the wire into a circle and covering it with old pantyhose, you instantly have an inexpensive fishing net that the kids can use in a creek or at the beach. It's also useful for sifting out the sand and dirt from shells and other found treasures.
-
Step 3
Make your own shoe organizer. Instead of spending a lot of money on shoe organizers, you can bend the ends of your wire hangers up and place a shoe on each end.
-
Step 4
Create a mobile for your children's rooms. To get rid of the wire look, wrap the hanger in colorful yarn to match the décor of the room. You can hang photos, seashells or other collections from the hanger.
-
Step 5
Keep your legs dry from static cling sprays. These sprays are great when you're on your way out the door to work, but if you're trying to keep your skirt from clinging to your pantyhose, you end up leaving a little bit damp. Pass one of your old wire hangers between the skirt and hose to get rid of the cling.
-
Step 6
Unclog your plumbing. By untwisting a wire hanger and elongating it, you can use it to dislodge items that are clogging your kitchen or bathroom sinks and your toilets.
-
Step 7
Plant them in your garden. Cut a wire hanger into 3 equal sections and then reshape the sections into U shapes. Press them firmly into your garden dirt over your soaker hose to make sure it doesn't go anywhere. Use as many hangars as you need to secure the hose.
