Buy Wall Mount Ballet Bars

Part of ballet dancing is the warm up and stretching, which is typically done at the "barre." The barre is the wall-mounted bar or bars that run horizontally along the wall. Some serious dancers even have these bars in their homes, so they can practice at their convenience.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the wall or walls that you plan to have ballet bars mounted to. Many dance studios have ballet bars on several walls in a studio. Check the wall to make sure that it will be able to have sturdy brackets installed to hold the ballet bar or bars.

    • 2

Determine if you plan to buy a single bar or a double ballet bar to be mounted on the wall. The single ballet bar will be a single long bar that runs the length of the wall or area you wish. The double bar is composed of two bars that are mounted one under the other, one foot apart. The double bars are used when you use the same studio for older ballet students and child dancers.

    • 3

Check with ballet supply companies, dance supply companies or theatre supply companies for catalogs or information on ordering the ballet bars you will need. Your pricing for the ballet bars will depend upon the length and style of bar you order. A shorter single bar, around 4 to 6 feet in length, with 2 support brackets might start around $75. A longer ballet bar, 9 feet to 12 feet, or a double ballet bar with 3 or more support brackets will cost a great deal more, possibly $300 and up. Be sure to consider the cost of shipping and cost of installation.
