How to Play Personal Videos in Sims 2

There are many "cheats" and secrets in The Sims 2 to make the game so interesting. One of those secrets is the ability to play personal videos using your Sims' television sets. Get a video clip and a television set, and your Sims will gather around to watch your favorite recorded moments.

Things You'll Need

• Sims 2, Sims 2 Holiday DVD edition, Sims 2 Deluxe edition
• Personal videos in AVI format

Instructions

1. Open your Sims' movie files by clicking "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Movies\Broadcast."

2. Copy or move your personal video file into whichever station you'd like your Sims to watch. Your videos can't be any bigger than 128 x 128 pixels, and no faster than 15 frames per second.

3. Start Sims 2. Once you've entered a lot, direct a Sim to watch TV by clicking on the television and choosing "Watch." If you saved your personal video to "TVWorkout," you must direct your Sim to "Workout."

4. Switch to the correct station by clicking once more on the television and choosing from the list of stations.

5. Watch your Sim enjoy your video.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also create video clips of your Sim families. While playing, click on the video camera icon in the bottom left corner. Once the video is captured, it will be saved to the Movies folder. Move it to the correct broadcast station, and your Sims can watch their own family videos.
