Help your child make a Valentine that will stay out of the trash once the holiday has passed. Make ribbon bracelets that Valentines can wear all year round. These cute little bracelets can be made for girls or boys in under an hour.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Self-adhesive Velcro dots
  • Tacky glue
  • White office labels
  • Permanent marker
  • Label maker
  1. Step 1

Measure and cut ribbon that fits around a child's wrist. Leave an extra inch for the Velcro closure.

  2. Step 2

Fold in one-half inch of ribbon on one end. Fold to the wrong side of the ribbon. Put a Velcro dot on the ribbon to hold it in place.

  3. Step 3

Fold one-half inch of the opposite end towards the right side of the ribbon. Put a Velcro dot on the right side to hold the ribbon in place.

  4. Step 4

Put a dot of tacky glue under each piece of Velcro. Put a heavy book on the bracelet to hold the Velcro in place until it is dry.

  5. Step 5

Write a Valentine's message on an office label. Stick the label to the inside of the bracelet. Use a label maker for the message if you have one.

Tips & Warnings
  • Err on the side of large bracelets, especially for boys.
  • Make boy bracelets from camoflage, sports or solid print ribbon.
  • Grosgrain and cotton ribbons work the best.
  • Velcro dots do not stick well to satin ribbon, even with glue.
