Everybody has times when they're low on cash or even just quarters and still need to do laundry. Finding a change machine or a friend to borrow money from can be time-consuming, so read on to find out how to do your laundry for free.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Find a residence that offers access to washers and driers. Some places have a set of communal washers and dryers that allow you to do your laundry for free. This tends to occur in smaller or less formal apartment or co-op living arrangements.
Step2
Stop by a friend's house. Good friends let other friends to laundry at their house. Always ask their permission first and try not to make a habit of it, otherwise they may just think you're taking advantage of them.
Step3
Hand wash your laundry. Doing laundry by hand may be extra work, but it's free. Try using your tub or sink to wash smaller items or those that absolutely need a washing. Make sure to rinse items thoroughly and hang them dry.
Step4
Visit relatives. Chances are, your parents or cousins would be more than happy to let you do a couple loads of laundry when you stay for dinner. They may even be willing to make it a weekly thing. This works best for college students who normally visit home often anyway.
Step5
Work at a dry-cleaning or laundry service. Some laundry services allow you to do your own laundry for free, provided you're employed there.
