How to Make Jade Necklaces

Jade is a gemstone brought to Europe from China and Central America, and is still valued today for its beauty. Jade's basic color is emerald green. A favorite gemstone among jewelry makers, jade is often used for creating beautiful earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • 80 jade rounds (or more)
  • 40 topaz Swarovski rounds (or more)
  • 1 package gold pony seeds
  • 2 packages s/p rounds
  • 1 package s/p Filigree oval clasp
  • 1 tube, package of crimps
  • Softflex beading wire
  1. Step 1

    Cut, for a 20 inches length necklace, a piece of softflex wire but add a little more to reserve the 20 inches length.

  2. Step 2

    String softlex through one crimp bead, loop through the ring on the oval part of clasp, then back through the crimp bead.

  3. Step 3

    Using a crimp tool, tighten the crimp bead and cut the excess wire.

  4. Step 4

    String a round, Topaz Crystal, Jade, Crystal, round, pony bead, Jade, pony bead.

  5. Step 5

    Repeat step four 14 times. End your necklace with a round.

  6. Step 6

    Add crimp bead and loop through the ring on the other part of the toggle clasp and back through the crimp bead. Crush the crimp bead and trim the end. Tuck the remaining part into the next bead. And you are done.

Tips & Warnings
  • To make a bracelet, just cut the quantity of beads in half. Follow the same procedure.
  • Keep beads, findings and other jewelry material away from small children and pets as they make choke on them.
