How to Knit a Pavilion Pattern

Knitting is fun to learn. It's a great pastime, letting you make special gifts for friends and loved ones. Your time and talent goes into each piece you make and when you give your gifts, it's like giving a part of yourself. There are many different stitches to learn, but here are the steps to make a pavilion pattern.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Knitting needles
  • Yarn

Step1
Use a pair of knitting needles any size. Counting in multiples of 18, cast the stitches onto the left needle. The pattern for row 1 is knit 2, purl 1, knit 5, purl 7, knit 3, repeat the pattern across.Mark this row as the right side. The pattern for row 2 is knit in the knitted stitches and purl in the purl stitches. The pattern for row 3 is (knit 1, purl 1) twice, knit 5,, purl 5, knit 4, repeat pattern across. The pattern for row 4 is repeat row 2. The pattern for row 5 is purl 1, knit 3, purl 1, knit 5,, purl 3, knit 5, repeat pattern across. The pattern for row 6 in to repeat row 2.
Step2
The pattern for row 7 is knit 5, purl 1, knit 5, purl 7, repeat across. For row 8 repeat Row 2. Row 9 (purl 1, knit 5) twice, purl 5, knit 1. Repeat across. The pattern for row 10 is to repeat row 2. The pattern for row 11 is knit 1, (purl 1, knit 5) twice, purl 3, knit 2. Repeat across. The pattern for row 12 is repeat row 2.
Step3
The pattern for row 13 is knit 2, *purl 1 knit 5. Repeat from * across, ending with purl 1, knit 3. The pattern for row 14 is repeat row 2. The pattern for row 15 is knit 3, purl 1, knit 5, purl 1, knit 3 purl 1, knit 1 purl 1, knit 2. Repeat across. The pattern for row 16 is repeat row 2.
