How to Knit a Little Pyramid Pattern

A little pyramid is a reversible knit pattern that lies flat. The triangles are knit and the pyramids are purl on one side. The pyramids are knit and the triangles are purl on the other side. This pattern uses multiple of 6 + 5. There are six rows that make the pattern. Knit the pattern until it reaches the length you desire. Read on to learn how to knit a little pyramid pattern.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Using Multiple of 6 + 5, cast on thread. K5 *p1, k5; rep from *.

  2. Step 2

    Follow this pattern for the second row: k1, *p3, k3; rep from * ending with p3, k1.

  3. Step 3

    Follow this pattern for the third row: p2, *k1, p5; rep from * ending with k1, p2.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat row 3.

  5. Step 5

    Repeat row 2.

  6. Step 6

    Repeat row 1. When the knitting gets to the desired length, bind off all stitches.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use the little pyramid pattern to make sweaters, afghans or vests.
  • This is a pattern that even a beginner to knitting can knit in just a short while. The knit and purl stitch are easy to learn how to do.
  • If you would like to use more than one color yarn, always attach the next color at the end of a row. Tie the new color to the end of the row and break the old color. You will need to weave in the ends after the project is complete.
  • If you accidentally drop a stitch while knitting, you can use a crochet hook to pick it up and replace it on the knitting needle.
