Step 1
Understand what a demi-bra is. It's designed to lift and display the breast, almost in a "come-hither" fashion. The cup covers only the bottom half of the breast and can even slightly exposes the nipples, or sits low enough to tease them out if worn by those daring enough to spill over in them.
-
Step 2
Ensure the demi-bra fits comfortably before you buy it. Despite the sex appeal of the demi-bra, it should still fit comfortably. The straps should be snug and sit smooth along the body, as should the rear strap with no bulging skin or puckering of the bra. The bra shouldn't ride up and allow a finger width between the bra and skin while still feeling comfortable.
-
Step 3
Think about how much time you have to care for your undergarments when you buy them. For time-crunched women, cotton is easy to wash and wear. Silk, satin and lace should be taken care of with a lighter touch by hand washing and air drying.
-
Step 4
Decide what you are going to wear over the demi-bra when you buy it. This is a favored style for low cut tops or dresses. But silk and satin bras allow fabrics to slide over them and lace looks great, but can cause a rough look through a lightweight fabric.
-
Step 5
Buy the right cup size for you. The danger with a demi-bra is that if the cup size is too small, the breasts will bulge over the top creating a ridiculous "muffin top" look to the breasts. Demi-bras are available in different styles, some that cover the nipple while others are cut lower. If you want a peek-a-boo style, showing some or the entire nipple, do not go a cup size down to achieve this, as it will only result in an unflattering look. Look for the right style and make sure the cup size is correct for your breasts to buy the right demi-bra.
