Things You'll Need:
- Sponge rollers
- Steam rollers
- Hair pick
- Hair gel
-
Step 1
Set hair using sponge rollers at night. Wake up to beautiful curls. Use larger sections of hair and larger rollers for bigger curls. Smaller hair sections and smaller rollers result in smaller, tighter curls. Spritz damp hair with spray gel before setting.
-
Step 2
Use bendable sticks to achieve curls that look incredibly natural. Divide hair into small sections. Hold bendable stick halfway down your hair length. Twist the bottom half of hair around the stick and then twist the stick the remaining way toward your scalp. Twist the ends of the stick into each other to hold in place.
-
Step 3
Divide hair into several sections. Divide each section into smaller sections. Braid each smaller section and roll the braid up to your scalp and secure with a hairpin.
-
Step 4
Use steam rollers in the morning. Uncover natural-looking curls just fifteen minutes after your rollers are set.
-
Step 5
Use a 1/2-inch curling iron to wind a small section of hair. Hold for five seconds, then unravel. Repeat with remaining hair sections. Don't comb completely through. Use a pick to position curls.
-
Step 6
Don't rely only on special curling shampoos. They rarely work alone. Use curling shampoo in combination with another above method.
-
Step 7
Get a perm only if you don't want to spend time setting your hair everyday and only if your hair tolerates chemical processing.
