Finding age-appropriate games for children to play at a sleepover can be somewhat challenging. However, a simple solution to this problem is to substitute the inappropriate aspects of more popular games with suitable alternatives. Try this interesting take on "Spin The Bottle" at your tween's next sleepover.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Gather 10 bottles of different colored nail polish.

  2. Step 2

Set up the game area by positioning the nail polish bottles in a circle. Make the circle wide enough to hold one child's body and a spinning bottle.

  3. Step 3

Acquire a bottle to use for spinning. A soda bottle will suffice.

  4. Step 4

Line up the group of girls. The girls will likely want a way to determine the order of the line. To avoid disagreements, try flipping coins or a game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to determine the queue's order.

  5. Step 5

Have the first girl in the line enter the nail polish circle and sit in the middle of it.

  6. Step 6

Instruct her spin the bottle in the direction of her choice. Tell her to spin the bottle hard enough to get it spinning multiple times but not so hard that it will spin out of control.

  7. Step 7

Watch the bottle stop spinning and point at a nail polish bottle.

  8. Step 8

Tell the girl to pick up the bottle of nail polish at which the bottle is pointing.

  9. Step 9

Allow the girl to paint one of her fingernails with the bottle of nail polish.

  10. Step 10

Repeat the process until the girls in the sleepover have all of their fingernails painted with a different color.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have nail polish remover on hand. Supervise the use of nail polish remover due to its chemical ingredients.
  • If the bottle stops spinning in between nail polish bottles, simply choose the closest nail polish.
  • Never leave the children unsupervised.
