Rhinoplasty, or a nose job, can be a very expensive, and painful procedure. If you don’t like the appearance of your nose and want a way to change the way it looks there is something that is simpler and less expensive than plastic surgery. There is a way to achieve the appearance of a smaller, straighter nose with makeup by using a technique called contouring. To effectively contour the nose, the entire face must be made up with the right makeup so that it will blend completely.

How to Get a Smaller Nose Without Surgery

Purchase, or gather, your needed items. Arrange them in front of you so that they are easily accessible.

Thoroughly clean the face with a gentle facial cleaner with your normal daily cleanser. Remove all access dirt and oil from your face or you will have a shiny look after applying the makeup.

Pat the face completely dry and apply moisturizer. Don’t use an overly greasy moisturizer. Be sure to completely work the moisturizer into the skin.

Take a small makeup brush and apply the lighter makeup to the top and bottom of the eye. This is for removing any darkness under the eye and making the contouring more effective.

Apply the medium shade foundation to blend out the entire face with a makeup sponge

Prepare the contouring brush and the darkest foundation to contour the nose. If you are using a new brush, you don't have anything to worry about. If the brush is used and the tip of it isn't as defined, wet the tip with just a drop of water. Use a paper towel to remove any excess water out of the brush while shaping the tip at the top.

Starting from the eyebrows draw railroad lines down the edge of the nose on both sides. Draw the lines so that they aren’t too thick.

Blend the lines into the makeup surrounding the nose with a makeup sponge.

Apply powdered makeup over the entire face to give a finished look to the entire face.

Apply any other type of makeup you want to the lips or eyelids to complete the entire makeup process.

Tip

  • When using lighter shades for the eyes, try a salmon color. It is perfect for any complexion and blends very well. When contouring nose, make sure the lines isn’t thicker than your pinkie finger. Really thick lines won’t blend completely and will look like dirt on the face. Be sure to wash your face twice a day when using makeup on a regular basis. You don’t want clog your pores and damage your skin. If you have oily skin, it is very important to thoroughly clean and moisturize with the right type of products to cut down on the shiny makeup look. Always foliate 2 to 3 times a week. Purchase makeup that is transfer resistant. Try to stay away from pressed powder. It tends to get caked up and you will need to refresh regularly throughout the day. In the case that you do, just blot lightly with a napkin.
