Black Rock Mountain State Park is the state park with the highest elevation in Georgia. Located in the extreme northeast tip of Georgia, the park offers hiking, fishing, camping and panoramic views of the Appalachian Mountains from 3,640 feet above sea level. Step1
Drive to Black Rock Mountain State Park. Take U.S. Highway 441 North to the city of Clayton. Continue for three more miles, following the brown directional signs. The park's street address is 3085 Black Rock Mountain Parkway, Mountain City, GA 30562.
Step2
Know the dates and times the park is open. Black Rock Mountain State Park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. The park office is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Step3
Camp at Black Rock Mountain State Park. The park offers 48 trailer, tent and RV campsites that have cable television hookups. There are also 12 walk-in campsites, four back country campsites and a pioneer campground. The park offers ten cottages for rent, two of which are pet-friendly. In addition, there are two picnic shelters. You can rent all of these services for reasonable fees; check out the official Georgia State Parks website. Hike at the park. Four trails offer varying degrees of difficulty and length. The James E. Edmond trail is a 7.2-mile difficult to strenuous loop that passes waterfalls and summits Look off Mountain. The Black Rock Lake trail is a .85-mile easy loop providing views of two streams and the lake. The Ada Hi-Falls trail is a moderate to difficult .25-mile hike to the falls of the same name; the Tennessee Rock trail is a 2.2-mile loop, rated easy to moderate, that allows visitors to walk past native trees and see beautiful mountain vistas.

Fish at Black Rock Mountain. Two streams and a lake provide ample bass, perch, trout, catfish and bream fishing.
