PowerPoint adds your newly devised color scheme to the options to choose next time by adding it to the "Slide Design-Color Schemes" portion of the task pane. Look at the toolbar. Choose "Design." This will take you to the part of the program that affects the color scheme in all of the design areas.

Click on "Color Schemes" when the design window opens. Realize that you do not have to settle for the colors shown at first since you can modify PowerPoint 2007.

Think about what you want to do from here. You can change the color scheme for your slides by clicking your mouse on "Edit Color Schemes."

Go to "Scheme Colors" and select "Custom." Decide on the color you want to change and click that color. Using the scroll bar, you can lighten or darken the hue of the color you are changing. Repeat for each color you want to change and then select "Apply."

Change the colors for notes and handouts if you want as well. Just use the same steps as you did above.
