Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • PowerPoint 2007

Step1
Select the "Office" icon and click on "PowerPoint Options." By the way, this icon is the one you will use to access many of the available features.
Step2
Choose "Proofing," which takes you to the next window. From there, choose the "AutoCorrect Options" setting.
Step3
Modify the settings as needed by adding text to help enter long lines of wording that occur often.
Step4
Set up the instructions in the AutoCorrect options so that you can type in a few letters of a lengthy line and it will automatically suggest that you add the text line.
Step5
Pick the area that says "AutoCorrect." It is located at the top of the box.
Step6
Key the letters that you want to use to signal the need for the lengthy text into the box that says "Replace." From here, enter the text that will serve as a correction into the box that says "With."
Step7
Click on the "Add" button when prompted, then the "Okay" button. If you should ever need to turn off the AutoCorrect option, just follow Steps 1 and 2. When you get to the "AutoCorrect Options" part, remove the check in the "Show AutoCorrect Options Button" area. After that, click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

  • Just to be sure it works, test your AutoCorrect option when you add a new one.
  • Try the tutorial at PPT FAQ to be able to use the commands of older versions of PowerPoint in the 2007 version.
