Step 1
Purchase the right type of pendulum. Most energy workers use pendulums made of crystal while Brennan suggests pear shaped ones made of beechwood.
-
Step 2
Find a comfortable flat surface and have your subject lie on their back to measure the front chakras. (Conversely, have them lie on their stomach to measure the back chakras.)
-
Step 3
Take your pendulum and hold it approximately six inches over the chakra you wish to diagnose. Brennan suggests to "Empty your mind of all bias as to the state of the chakra," while performing your test.
-
Step 4
Observe the movement of the pendulum, which may move in a circle, ellipse, erratically, back and forth or stand still.
-
Step 5
Record the pattern of the pendulum. Brennan states that, "The size and direction of the pendulum movement indicates the amount and direction of energy flowing through the chakra." Knowing the precise movement pattern will allow you to better diagnose the health of a chakra.
-
Step 6
Know the basic patterns of chakra movement. According to Dr. John Pierrakos, a clockwise movement indicates a chakra that is well balanced (healthy.) In contrast, a counter clockwise movement indicates a chakra that is closed or out of balance.
-
Step 7
Continue to check all of your subject's chakras comparing their size and movement. A person in good health should display chakras of similar size and clockwise motion. Such a pattern indicates free flowing energy throughout the body.
-
Step 8
Study the variations in pendulum movement. There are numerous differences between clockwise and counter clockwise motion indicating various energy states. Read "Hands of Light," for Brennan's interpretation of these patterns.
