Go to site for mIRC, and download the program. Place the downloaded file to your desktop so that it is easy to find later. You will need to wait for this file to download which may take some time, depending on your Internet connection speed.

Look on your desktop once the file is downloaded and double click on the installation file to install mIRC. The installation is very simple and it is advisable to accept the default installation information. Everything should be automatically installed and should start up working.

Open the mIRC chat program and connect to the server. Refresh the list of rooms and wait for them to load. Once they have loaded, you can scroll through them and examine the titles of the rooms.

Enter one of the rooms that interests you and begin to interact with the people there. You will need to come up with a name to log in.

You can open windows into many rooms at the same time, just be careful that the cursor is in the room you are responding to when you are typing or you will be typing the answer to one room in one of the others that are open.
