Dry Gloves

Wet gloves can be a nuisance to dry out. A dryer is likely to shrink them and putting them next to a strong heat source will cause the material to harden, especially if they are made from leather. As the colder and wetter months approach, you need to learn how to dry your gloves. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Take off the wet gloves. Do not wring out the excess water. Instead, gently squeeze out the excess water.

    • 2

Lay the gloves down on a towel. Roll up the towel over the gloves to get rid of even more of the water.

    • 3

Place the gloves flat after getting rid of most of the water. Move them to a cool and dry place, not directly in front of a strong heat source.

    • 4

Wait several hours and then turn the gloves over. Check to see if they are dry before you flip them. It typically takes eight hours or more before they are ready to be turned to the other side. After another eight hours or longer, the gloves should be ready to be worn again.

Use a glove dryer if you have one. If you need the gloves dried quickly, you can opt to use a specially made gloves dryer. Hotronic Glove and Boot Dryer is one option that you can consider.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you place your gloves on a heater or next to a fireplace, it is likely to cause damage to the gloves. In many cases it can also be considered a fire hazard.

  • If you are going to be camping or skiing, then you should bring more than one pair of gloves. Some gloves may take a day or longer to dry out completely.
