    Instructions

      • 1

Make sure there's plenty of open space in the living room. Clear all tables, chairs and other objects to the side of the room, leaving a wide open space in the middle.

      • 2

Find as many building objects as you can. Pillows, cushions and even the furniture can be used to build. If you've recently moved, there are probably a lot of boxes you can use.

      • 3

Arrange the objects in a large square, or whatever shape you prefer or can manage. Remember that the more materials you have, the larger the fort can be.

Use a blanket over the opening for a door. (You did remember to leave an open space to enter the fort, right?) If the fort is high enough, you could also use a blanket for a roof.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Take into account anything you want in the fort. If there's a TV in the room, for example, you may want to build the fort around it so you can watch it while inside.

    • Think about what you would like to wear while in the fort. Cowboy, Native American or military gear are popular choices for such a setting.
