When you are creating a table in Dreamweaver, you may find that you want to change the properties of a certain cell or selections of cells instead of the whole table. This is commonly done to make the headings of a table stand out from the other information in the table. Follow the steps below to set the cell properties in your Dreamweaver table.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dreamweaver
  1. Step 1

Start Dreamweaver and open an existing Dreamweaver document that includes a table with cell properties you would like to change.

  2. Step 2

Use your mouse to click within a cell to change the properties of the cell you have clicked on. If you would like to change the properties of multiple cells, use your mouse to click and drag over the group of cells you wish to change the properties of.

  3. Step 3

Notice that the bottom half of the Properties palette contains the cell properties that you can now apply to your selected cells.

  4. Step 4

Align the text in the cell by changing the "Horz" option to either "Left," "Right" or "Center," and the "Vert" options to either "Top," "Middle," "Bottom" or "Baseline."

  5. Step 5

Type a number in the width box ("W") and the height box ("H") to set the width and height of the selected cells.

  6. Step 6

Check the boxes to not wrap text ("No wrap") or turn into a header ("Header").

  7. Step 7

Choose a background picture for the cells using the "Bg" text box on the top or change the background color using the bottom "Bg" text box/color picker and the "Brdr" option to change the border color of the selected cells.

Tips & Warnings
