- Hair barrette
- Measuring tape
- Wire cutters
- Hot glue
- Banded rhinestones
- Small single rhinestones

Measure the hair barrette to find its exact length. Cut the banded rows to the length of the hair barrette. Most hair barrettes hold three banded rows although it may vary depending on the size of the barrette.

Open the barrette so the glue does not seep through onto the fastener. Place a line of glue along the bottom edge of the barrette.

Line the edges of the banded rhinestones with the edges of the barrette and press down firmly until the glue dries.

Continue adding rows until the barrette is covered with rhinestones. Line up each row with the edges of the barrette in the previous row of rhinestones.

Pick or make a design to place on the top of the rhinestones. Keep in mind the width of the barrette. Choose to make the design out of the same color rhinestones or different colors to add contrast.

Glue loose rhinestones onto the top of the barrette in a design of your choice and allow them to dry. Remove any excess glue from the sides of the rhinestones.
